The POI and richPOI ads on the GPS devices can convey your message to over 28 million users, day by day.
The users (customers) will be literally delivered to your doorstep, navigated straight to You (by using the main feature of the GPS devices).
The attention of a user who enters your range (e.g. a circle with a 150-yard radius) can be drawn to your company by a discreet alert. Within your reserved range this feature is exclusively yours, keeping out the neighboring competition or any other companies. (This feature is only available on Garmin GPS devices, included only in our Extra Package. Limited number of subscriptions are available)
Your company can be even more noticeable compared to the neighbouring businesses with our Multimedia Extra Package, including the Proximity Alert that can be activated on the Garmin GPS devices. Should the user enter the given range of your company (e.g. 150 yards) a red information line - showing your business name - appears on the screen of the device to let the user know that he or she is close to your company. The information line is accompanied by an alert beep and remains on the screen until the user leaves your range. On certain models the user can see your detailed NaviPro page (description, photo, etc.) by touching the information line. By pressing one button on this page the device plans the exact route to your location. There is another important feature of the Proximity Alert function: there can be only one business with Extra Package in any given range, so if you order this, no other company (competition or neighbours) can get it within your range. To cope with the daily downloads, we have published the NaviPro GPS database in different file formats (optimised for different GPS brands) at the only official rich POI site www.richPOI.com and at the well-known www.downloadPOI.com site.
You can have full exclusivity with Multimedia Extra Package
for a whole year (or even more)
for a small fee.

900 Million GPS Shipments By 2013 The GPS modernization project and the arrival of additional Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) such as GLONASS, Galileo, and Beidou/Compass will increase the availability, reliability, and precision of satellite positioning and stimulate the location ecosystem, expanding the market to more than 900 million units by 2013, according to ABI Research. "Personal navigation devices for in-car use will be increasingly complemented by converged solutions based on GPS-enabled handsets for pedestrian navigation and location based services," says ABI Research principal analyst Dominique Bonte.
The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a satellite-based navigation system made up of a network of 24 satellites placed into orbit by the U.S. Department of Defense. GPS was originally intended for military applications, but in the 1980s, the government made the system available for civilian use. GPS works in any weather conditions, anywhere in the world, 24 hours a day. There are no subscription fees or setup charges to use GPS.
How it works
GPS satellites circle the earth twice a day in a very precise orbit and transmit signal information to earth. GPS receivers take this information and use triangulation to calculate the user's exact location. Essentially, the GPS receiver compares the time a signal was transmitted by a satellite with the time it was received. The time difference tells the GPS receiver how far away the satellite is. Now, with distance measurements from a few more satellites, the receiver can determine the user's position and display it on the unit's electronic map.
